For too long, food manufacturing has been driven by cost-cutting and shareholder demands instead of craftsmanship, health, or flavor. Gotham stands for something different — food that’s honest, flavorful, and made with respect for those who eat it.
The idea was born in 2017 when three partners — Chef Gena Medvedchikov, Valentin Chelnokov of Zina’s Fine Foods, and Gourmet Markets International (GMI) — came together around a shared belief that quality should never be compromised. Together, they built Gotham Gourmet Provisions — a company rooted in culinary excellence, responsible manufacturing, and direct global sourcing.

Chef Gennadiy “Gena” Medvedchikov
With over 30 years of culinary experience, Chef Gena has worked in some of New York City’s most iconic kitchens and led food innovation for major supermarket chains.
His passion lies in flavor — creating recipes that balance European authenticity with modern American tastes. Every product begins in his kitchen, crafted by hand and perfected through taste.
Valentin Chelnokov — Zina’s Fine Foods
As CEO of Zina’s Fine Foods, Valentin has spent over 15 years developing premium prepared foods for more than 7,000 stores across the U.S.
He brings manufacturing precision and scale while maintaining artisanal integrity — ensuring that every Gotham product delivers unmatched quality at a competitive price.
GMI Trading
For over 25 years, GMI has imported authentic European ingredients into the U.S. market.
Operating from a 135,000 sq. ft. facility in New Jersey, GMI provides Gotham with direct access to European manufacturers, ensuring ingredient authenticity, supply stability, and value through global sourcing partnerships.
